2005 ARTISSIMA 12 – the international contemporary art fair – was held at the Turin 's Lingotto from 11 to 13 November. Looking for something new!

As you come in you immediately realize it's a special place. Several receptionists, multi-ethnical visitors, artists, managers of art galleries, collectors, journalists of specialized reviews and many young people form a coloured plaza of thousand differences and affinities.

The works of art – from extremist avant-garde to “classic” – are introduced to the audience by the managers of art galleries and by the artists themselves. The works of art send out their expressive strength made up of lights, colours, sounds symphonies and captivating movements that sometimes beckon to play and to emotionally participate.

Materials and techniques suggest the innovative potential. Insiders emphasize the uniqueness of expressive solutions and the visitor is captivated by their simple complexity. It's clear these works of art are made up of experience and passion. The expositive space is so huge you've always the feeling you lost something on the way. It makes you want to come back looking again at some painting or installation that suddenly appear more interesting and intelligible.

For insiders the fair is an outstanding occasion to establish connections and collaborations. For the ordinary visitor is a unique moment to approach artists and their works, to identify new trends and have a second look at past trends reinterpreting them or recognising them in today's references.

The international character of the exhibition gives the opportunity to appreciate both cultural differences and the thousand of resemblances. It seems that through the art it's possible to spread and translate the spirit of our time in thousand of different aesthetic solutions at the same time keeping this spirit recognisable. Coming out of Artissima you realize you have just seen a piece of future that seems to be full of lights, colours, sounds, affection, friendliness and emotions.

We are looking forward Artissima 13, but in the meantime at an on the occasion “shiny” Turin the “International Party” is not at all over. Insiders and outsiders can seize the opportunity to take part to Arte Fiera Bologna 2006 from 27 to 30 January 2006.
