Derrick De Kerckhove
Studente ed erede intellettuale di Marshall McLuhan, De Kerckhove insegna alla Università di Toronto ed è direttore dell'Instituto McLuhan.Derrick De Kerckhove si occupa da molti anni delle interazioni neuro-culturali tra la tecnologia e il corpo, i media e la cultura, l'arte e la comunicazione. E' inoltre promotore di un ambito sperimentale che unisce l'arte, l'ingegneria e le nuove tecnologie comunicative.
Ha scritto 'Understanding 1984', 'McLuhan and the Metamorphasis of Man', 'The Alphabet and the Brain' and 'Brainframes: Mind, Technology and Market' (tradotto in italia:Brainframes: mente, tecnologia e mercato).
Student and intellectual heir to Marshall McLuhan, Professor De Kerckhove teaches at the University of Toronto and is presently Director of the McLuhan Institute. He concerns himself with the neuro-cultural interactions between technology and body, media and culture, art and communication. De Kerckhove is the promoter of an experimental ambit which unites art, engineering and new communication technologies.
His books include 'Understanding 1984', 'McLuhan and the Metamorphasis of Man', 'The Alphabet and the Brain' and 'Brainframes: Mind, Technology and Market'.
